Anna-Karoliina Vainio (FI)

Anna-Karoliina Vainio (b. 1995) is a Helsinki-based visual artist who primarily works with soft materials and painting. Her works are created with respect for traditional techniques, while their visual language is firmly rooted in contemporary art. Vainio engages with age-old, universal themes such as the finitude of life, escapism, the uncertainty of what comes next, and the fragile beauty of the present moment.
Her work has been presented in numerous solo and group exhibitions across Finland and internationally, most recently at the Purnu Summer Exhibition and in the “Young Artists 2023” exhibition at Helsinki Kunsthalle. Her works have also been exhibited at Wäinö Aaltonen Museum, Amos Rex, HAM Helsinki Art Museum, and Seinäjoki Art Hall.
Her works are included in the collections of HAM Helsinki Art Museum and the University of Évora.
