Frans Nybacka (b. 1993) is a visual artist residing in Helsinki. His body of work focuses on worldbuilding through various mediums, painting being the most prominent. Nybacka's exhibitions are a strongly serialized ensembles that seek to present glimpses of an alternative world, whether it is an inner fantasy land fueled by video games, memories, dreams or a slightly distorted version of our own. The underlying tone of his works often includes a magical and sacred experience of nature and suggests an emotional presence in all things. A childlike imagination and innocence are important aspects of his artistic practice in which places and objects are personified, casting them in a sympathetic light. He has studied art at Aalto University and has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions throughout Finland.
