Hanna Kanto is visual artist from Finland (b. in Tornio 1981), whose main medium is painting. She received her education from the University of Lapland from the Department of Art Education (MFA, 2007) and Academy of Fine Arts (MFA, 2021) in Helsinki.

Kanto opens the Nordic aspect through participation of everyday life and supporting livelyhoods is part of her work. She draws the minimalistic and inhospitable northern landscape and its resilient people as reference points for her art. An important part of her creative process is hands-on experience through her participation in local industries such as berry picking and forest planting.
