Krista Antila (b. 1994) is a Helsinki-based visual artist working primarily with oil painting.

An ongoing theme in her work is the experience and memory of place. Imprints and traces function both as physical marks and as moments in which something is about to or has just happened. The human presence appears in the works indirectly: referenced through action or framed into anonymity. While depicting transitional states and boundary zones her work centers around themes of anticipation, uncertainty and relief.

Antila is currently studying at the Painting Department of the Academy of Fine Arts Helsinki. She also holds a Master’s degree in Architecture from Aalto University (2020). In addition to oil painting, she occasionally works with drawing, watercolour, and intaglio printmaking.
