Saara
Lintunen (FI)
Saara Lintunen is inspired by the northern landscapes of Finland, where her roots lie. In her works, memory and observation blend together. Flowers, plants, birds, clothes and curtains take on symbolic roles. They are telling quiet stories of stillness and absence.
Nature fills the space, while the human figure is gone. Textiles, garments and buildings reflect traces of life once present. The clothes in the images carry memories and suggest the shape of the human form.
Drawing for Saara is calming, slow process-way of immersing herself in the landscape and its details. The pencil line is essential in capturing detail, emotion and atmosphere.
Lintunen lives in Helsinki and works across drawing, painting, ceramics and printmaking. Her art often explores themes of nature, memory, and human presence through everyday objects.
