Timo
Andersson (FI)
Timo Andersson (b. 1989) is an artist based in Espoo, Finland. His current practice focuses on painting and drawing.
The articulated form of his works is contrasted with the vague images they contain. This creates visual friction, further complicated by the texture of the polyester mesh he uses as a material basis. The resulting objects are dense, genreless open windows that encourage free association and observation.
Andersson graduated from the Academy of Fine in Helsinki in 2018. In addition to his solo exhibitions in Finland, Germany, and the United States, he has participated in joint and group exhibitions both Finland and abroad, and has worked actively in various international artist residencies. His works are included in the collections of the Museum of Contemporary Art Kiasma, the Saastamoinen Foundation, Pori Art Museum (deposit collection A.J.), and the Academy of Fine Arts of Uniarts Helsinki.
