Valter Stranden (b. 1994) is a Helsinki-based visual artist. He graduated from the Free Art School in 2022. Stranden has held solo exhibitions and participated in group exhibitions in Finland. His works are included in private collections in Finland and internationally.Stranden works primarily with oil on canvas, while also incorporating watercolor and oil pastels. His paintings are color-driven and move freely between figurative and abstract expression.

In recent years, his subjects have included landscapes, mountains, flowers, overgrown gardens, ruined walls, and human figures. Through these, Stranden explores life as a whole, with all its emotions. Stranden approaches painting through color and works in a highly intuitive manner. A painting may begin from an idea or a sketch, but develops through the process itself, gradually finding its own direction and final form.
Alongside painting, Stranden writes poetry. Writing is an integral part of his artistic thinking and brings a strong poetic atmosphere to his paintings.
