Matkalaiset I (Travellers I) is a two-sided oil painting on plywood which is meant to be placed on a flat surface.
The work gets its shape and inspiration from Orthodox travel icons, but instead of human saints I wanted to depict birds as holy creatures to be revered.
The work has been exhibited in 2025 in a private exhibition at Galleria Aarni, Espoo.
