Gloria Velasco (FI/MEX)

Gloria Velasco (b. 1992, Mexico) holds a Master’s degree in Art History from the National Autonomous University of Mexico. Currently based in Helsinki, Finland, she is in her fourth and final year at Vapaa Taidekoulu (Free Art School) and has recently begun a Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts at Novia University of Applied Sciences.

As a visual artist, Velasco weaves together intimate themes rooted in personal experiences and obsessions. Her practice explores femininity, motherhood, childhood, and family—seeking to unravel their complexities while venturing into realms of fiction, fantasy, and narrativity. Beyond technical execution, her work is driven by a deep commitment to expressing ideas and emotions with honesty and resonance.
