Piiti Blomqvist (FI)

Piiti Blomqvist (b. 1998) is a Helsinki-based visual artist. Her practice is centered around drawing, painting and ceramics.

The themes in her work are often centered around girlhood: exploring love, heartbreak, insecurity, trauma with a touch of mischievous diva-energy. She gets inspiration from her own queer identity and her own experiences as well as beautiful everyday objects and animals. Blomqvist is endlessly intrigued by the juxtaposition of innocence and evil, which is manifested in her work through animal figures enjoying human vices. For Blomqvist, beauty is a core value as well as an essential element in her work; she creates visually strong and playful works about complex and difficult emotions.

Blomqvist has graduated from Pekka Halonen Academy and is currently studying a bachelors degree in aesthetics and art history in University of Helsinki. She has had solo exhibitions in Helsinki and Lahti and been a part of multiple group exhibitions around Finland. Her work can also be seen in many restaurants around Helsinki. In 2025 she was chosen as the artist for Marimekko x Helsinki Pride campaign.
