Ballerina Blues

This painting is a part of a bigger body of work titled ”Behold the Lover Girl!”. The series, which was exhibited in Asbestos Art Space in the spring of 2025, explore the isolating and simultaneously freeing experience of womanhood as a queer-woman. I wanted to depict this experience through circus-imagery.

”Ballerina Blues” depicts the feeling of loneliness related to situations where you’re being exposed in some sort of way.
