Sini Kallio (FI)

Sini Kallio (b.1983) is Tampere based visual artist, who is best known for her bright, colourful, figurative paintings, that bear hidden symbols and meanings. Her art draws from media, pop-culture, fashion and feminism, studying also the underbelly of things. Her works play with the esthetics of easygoing surface of vain things, while showing glimpses of criticism, touching the subjects such as inequity, capitalism and animal rights.

Kallio has a Master of Arts degree from Aalto University’s School of Arts. Besides her own art, she works as an art-teacher and is a part of contemporary art media Artpod. Her works have been exhibited in various group-exhibitions in Finland, recently she has aimed to exhibit her art in non-traditional spaces, such as Window Walkabout, Tampere(2024) and Ars Pori Megastore, Pori(2021). Her next exhibition will be at Hotel&Restaurant Museum, Helsinki(2027).
