In the painting, the first small blue flowers of spring, blue anemones and blue lilies, rise from the still brown earth of early spring. The painting conveys the wild joy of the beginning of spring.
The painting was created using the tempera technique on hand-primed linen canvas. It is part of a series inspired by the urban plants and green environments of Helsinki. The painting was exhibited at the Toinen Silmä Gallery in April 2026.
