The work observes fear as a human experience that cannot be avoided or controlled. It shows the moment when fear shifts into awareness, becoming part of seeing and being. At its centre is a sense of trust, where a feeling that cannot be escaped can eventually be met and allowed to pass. The work reflects the act of facing fear and accepting it.
The artwork is part of a broader multi year series in which the bird represents the human being. The collection explores humanity and empathy through the diversity of emotions and everyday human encounters.
